October

I thought it'd be fun to make a new header each month.  It's already halfway over, but here is October. (:

More Abby doodles.  Drawn with a nifty gold pen in my sketchbook, colored in photoshop.

And this is something I made in class today.

Happy October!

It's finally October, and I can hardly wait for Halloween!
Here's this weeks' character design homework to help celebrate the season.
(we had to create three Halloween-themed characters using a milk carton shape, a pear shape, and a banana shape)

I've decided on an idea for my second year film.  Here's a character concept doodle.

Mama Mia

Another quick study from Pulp Fiction.

“Don’t you hate that?"
"What?"
"Uncomfortable silences. Why do we feel it’s necessary to yak about bullshit in order to be comfortable?“

It's about time.

I realized that I haven't posted anything since my film.  I've been taking a break from drawing, but it has been weeks and I figured it was about time to get back to work.  Here's a quick study I did from Pulp Fiction.  It's nothing fantastic, but I need to start somewhere if I want to be posting regularly again.

Sneak Peak

Here is a sneak peak screenshot from my film.
The deadline is slowly getting closer, and I think we're all starting to really feel the pressure.
Who needs sleep?  It's only two more weeks.  Good luck to all of us haha.

Seafoamy Part 2

After having "Part of your World" stuck in my head for a good number of hours, I decided to draw a mermaid.  It's nothing serious, but here's the doodle.  It's like my mermaid sculpture from last semester.

Animation Midterm

Today in my traditional animation class we had a midterm where we were given a model sheet and two words.  We were supposed to create a 30-40 frame animation that is on model and describes the two words we picked at random.  My words were "magical" and "faint".  After I turned in my midterm, I thought of a more entertaining "magical" aspect I could use in this.   Enjoy.

Quick self portrait

I was bored and I didn't feel like working on my film, so I decided to play with the brushes in photoshop and play with colors.  I look strange here, but I had fun.  Oh yeah, and I cut my hair the other night (:

Watercolor Animation - Life Drawing

Last week in Life drawing we had a video reference of the model waving a cloak around projected in the front of the room.  We then went through every few frames and drew with our own interpretations.  I thought it was pretty interesting (:

Zoo trip - 12 Feb 2011

A group of us went to the LA Zoo a couple weeks ago with guest artist Deborah Ross.  We focused on watercolor animal drawings.  I had a blast (:

Model Sheet

Meet the main character of my film. I've yet to decide on a name for him.

Sketchbook Concept Doodles

Sincere apologies for the lack of posts in the past month. Winter break.

Here's some watercolor concept work for my film characters.
